UNDATED - Subfreezing temperatures and a dusting of snow in the mountain counties of north Georgia have prompted some schedule changes for school systems Tuesday.
Union County Schools decided at 8 a.m. to close schools for the day, since temperatures were remaining below the freezing mark. A school system spokeswoman described the snow in the area as a "dusting," although she said some of the more mountainous roads likely had received more.
Schools in Fannin and Towns counties are operating on a two-hour schedule delay Tuesday because of winter conditions.
