CUMMING - Forsyth County authorities Wednesday afternoon said the Georgia State Patrol is investigating the traffic accident that killed one person Wednesday morning on Highway 369.

The accident at Charleston Park Road, south of Holtzclaw Road, occurred around 9:30 a.m. and closed the highway for hours.

"One passenger car and one tractor trailer. The passenger car crossed over the center line striking the tractor trailer in the fuel saddle tank on the driver's side," Fire Division Chief Kevin Wallace said.

"The driver of the passenger car was deceased on scene. The driver of the tractor trailer was transported for evaluation," Wallace added.

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office identified the deceased man as 77 year old Lee Franklin.

Franklin was driving a Lincoln Town car. The tractor trailer was a Ryder truck, according to the sheriff's office. The car was westbound. The oncoming truck was headed east.
