ATLANTA - William Franklin Morris, a senior at Gainesville High School, was named the state winner of the STAR student award Monday night at the PAGE Star Student Banquet at the Crowne Plaza Ravinia Hotel in Atlanta.
Morris represented Region 2 of Georgia, along with Austin Montgomery of Lakeview Academy. The Gainesville Kiwanis Club sponsors the STAR Awards locally.
Morris' STAR Teacher is Pam Michelsen.
Morris, the son of Brad and Renee Morris, will attend Harvard University in the fall. The award includes a $5000 Scholarship.
