Inmate escapes Franklin County Detention Center

By B.J. Williams
CARNESVILLE - Franklin County authorities are on the lookout for an escaped inmate who scaled a fence at the county detention center Friday morning just after 10:30.

Sheriff Stevie Thomas said Kiebron Brock, 18, was in the rec yard at the jail when he climbed the fence.

"There's an opening between the top of the fence and the bottom of the shelter, and it's a very small place that he went through...and exited the jail," said Thomas.

The sheriff said Brock removed his jail-issued orange jump suit and was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and orange shorts. Brock is described as a light skinned black male, about 6'1", weight 160 lbs.

Sheriff Thomas said Brock possibly stole a Cadillac from a home near the jail. He said that a vehicle matching the description of the stolen car was spotted at one point after the jailbreak in Madison County. He said authorities gave chase, but did not find Brock or the vehicle.

The inmate is considered to be dangerous.

"The last arrest we had him on was burglary and also aggravated assault and home invasion," said Thomas.
