Commerce man charged in series of burglaries

By Staff
JEFFERSON - The Jackson County Sheriff's Office has arrested a Commerce man and charged him with three residential burglaries in the Commerce/Maysville area.

Jackson County Sheriff Janis Mangum identified the suspect in a press release as Santos Rivera, 32.

She said Rivera was arrested on May 16 and charged with three counts of burglary. She said another burglary charge is pending against Rivera.

The Banks County Sheriff's Department and the Commerce Police Department assisted with the investigation, and Mangum said it is likely Rivera will face charges in Banks County, as well.
