More details released on White County drug arrest round-up

CLEVELAND - A few more details have been released on the almost 12-hour operation Tuesday in White County that was targeted at shutting down a complex drug trafficking network in the county and across north Georgia.

White County Sheriff Neal Walden said Wednesday 47 suspects were in custody, with eight warrants still to be served.

Walden said in addition to the suspects arrested, officers seized about 10 pounds of marijuana, $4,000-$5,000 in cash, and officers recovered three stolen weapons at the time of the arrest in East Point.

It was a massive operation performed by some 100 officers, from various law enforcement departments.

Now the task is to get the other suspects in custody and build the case against the illegal drug operation allegedly led by Cleveland resident Demetrick Deon "D.D." Tate, Walden said.

Neither Walden nor the Appalachian Drug Task Force has released a list of those arrested as a result of Tuesday's operation.
