Deal reports $613,000 in campaign donations

By The Associated Press
ATLANTA (AP) Gov. Nathan Deal has raised $613,000 in campaign contributions since the first of the year and has roughly $1.1 million in cash for his re-election bid next year.

The finance report posted online Monday shows donors include developers, company executives and other elected officials. Delta CEO Richard Anderson and his wife contributed a combined $15,100 to Deal for both the primary and general election.

So far, the Republican governor has yet to draw a challenger. Meanwhile, Deal reported spending about $336,000 during the same period. The campaign's largest expenses were for consulting work, with tens of thousands of dollars paid to The Stoneridge Group, Southern Magnolia Capital and R. Thompson & Associates.

The campaign also paid $25,000 in legal fees to the firm of McKenna Long & Aldridge.
