White County administrative offices open in former sheriff's office

CLEVELAND - The former White County Sheriff's Office has taken on new life with the recent relocation of county administrative offices.

Located at 1235 Helen Highway, the building is located behind the White County Senior Center near Helen Highway's intersection with Post Road.

Offices making the move from the White County Courthouse include: board of commissioners, county manager, county clerk, human resources, finance, and business tax.

Future plans are to have the county coroner's office located in the building.

The board of commissioners will continue to hold their meetings at the White County Courthouse until further notice.

The move of White County administrative offices this week makes way for the expansion of White County Probate Court offices, and leaves only judicial offices in the courthouse on South Main Street.

The commissioners have been working on moving all non-judicial offices out of the courthouse for past year or so.
