GA execution halted amid lethal injection concerns

By The Associated Press
ATLANTA - An attorney for death row inmate Warren Hill says a Fulton County judge has temporarily stayed Hill's execution after attorneys raised questions about a law prohibiting releasing information involving Georgia's execution drug supply.

This isn't the first time Warren Lee Hill's execution has been halted because of a challenge to the state's execution method. Last July, his execution was put on hold pending a challenge to the state's plan to change from a three-drug process to a single dose of pentobarbital.

The state Supreme Court later authorized the execution, although it was halted again so courts could consider claims that Hill is mentally disabled. That stay was lifted in April and the state rescheduled the execution for Monday.

Hill was condemned for the 1990 killing of a fellow inmate.
