Police chase closes part of I-85 in northeast Ga.

BRASELTON - Authorities say a police chase that ended in northeast Georgia led to all northbound lanes of Interstate 85 being shut down for a time Friday morning.

Investigators closed all the northbound lanes of the interstate near Georgia Highway 53 in Jackson County for nearly an hour before dawn on Friday before they were reopened.

Police told WSB-TV that the chase started in DeKalb County and traveled through Gwinnett, Barrow and Jackson counties. It wasn't immediately known what prompted the chase, and few other details were released early Friday morning.
