FLOWERY BRANCH -- Winder-Barrow's rebound continued on Friday, as the Bulldoggs pulled off a 24-7 defeat of Flowery Branch in Flowery Branch.
Winder (3-3, 3-2 Region 8-AAAAA) took an early lead and pulled away from a 7-7 tie in a defensive battle.
The Bulldoggs managed just 194 yards, though the Falcons only managed 182 yards of their own -- including 57 yards rushing for Jeremiah Goss. Nick Lance threw for 97 yards -- 52 of them to Cortez Davis, who hauled in the Falcons' line scoring strike.
Winder was led by another standout performance Cece Green, as the running back rushed for 151 yards and a score on 30 carries.
The Bulldoggs defense held Flowery Branch (2-3, 1-3) to just one third down conversion in 13 attempts.
Winder's special teams proved key in the game, as Joey Junius returned the opening kickoff for a score, while the Bulldoggs also picked off a Falcons pass and returned it for a touchdown in the third quarter.
