GAINESVILLE -- Riverside Military gave it a run but could not hand Washington-Wilkes its second upset loss in as many weeks, as the Tigers held on for a 13-10 win on Friday in Gainesville.
The Eagles (1-5, 0-2 Region 8-AA) led for much of the contest but Washington-Wilkes pulled off the fourth quarter comeback to undo a touchdown from Avery Cgale and a field goal from Jordan Ainslee.
Cagle finished with 35 yards rushing and 15 yards passing in the defensive slugfest that saw the Eagles rack up just 127 total yards. Mahlik Faulk led Riverside with 57 yards rushing on 11 carries. He also had an interception he returned for 43 yards but was held out of the end zone.
Riverside will look to bounce back next week at Oglethorpe County.
