WEEK 9: Showdowns for region supremacy highlight big night ahead

Remember back two months ago when we were talking about who might or might not be in a region championship hunt? Well, the hunt is most definitely on for several area squads, and tonight's showdowns will give us an even better idea of who is ready... and who is still just hunting.<br /> <br /> Three northeast Georgia-based regions feature key showdowns amongst its top squads in Week 9, including 8-AA, 7-AAA, 8-AAAA and 8-AAAAA.<br /> <br /> The match-up in 7-AAA will feature a fast-improving Fannin County program at West Hall -- which is by itself at the top of the league standings. But the Spartans -- and Rebels -- know that tonight's outcome could change all of that.<br /> <br /> Meanwhile, in 8-AAAA, co-leaders Buford and North Oconee will battle in Bogart in a championship elimination contest, while -- in 8-AAAAA -- Lanier can move within one win of a region championship... or Salem could throw the league into chaos with a win in Sugar Hill.
