Public meetings set for Gainesville Connection changes

GAINESVILLE - Three meetings have been scheduled for December 1 for Gainesville residents to offer input on updated routes and fare adjustments for the Gainesville Connection, the city's public transit system.<br />

According to a statement from the city of Gainesville, all three meetings will take place on the same day in different locations around the city.<br />
<br />
Community Service Center Director Phillippa Lewis Moss said changes for the transit system will occur in April 2015, following compilation of all input from community meetings.<br />
<br />
"We've used a third-party consultant who has utilized the information that we've gotten from our passengers over the past year, and that individual has come up with a plan based on those recommendations," Moss said.<br />
<br />
She said the plan is not final, hence the scheduled meetings.<br />
<br />
"Passengers are our best informers. This system is designed for them, so if there's something that needs to be tweaked, there's still plenty of time to do that."<br />
