Police have said the 21-year-old woman weighed 59 pounds when she was found living in a hotel room with a man, his adult daughter and three children. Attorney Careton Matthews said Sunday that the woman's family expects Iasia Sweeting to recover; Sweeting had disappeared four years earlier.
Police say 44-year-old Calvin McIntosh and his 23-year-old daughter have been arrested on murder and child cruelty charges after his 15-month-old daughter died of suspected neglect. The dead child was the daughter of Sweeting, according to police.
Police have said the man fathered a 3-year-old with the 21-year-old woman and another 3-year-old and a 5-year-old with his adult daughter.
McIntosh reportedly was a member of the Nuwaubian Nation of Moors, an Islam based cult, according to press information released by the Gwinnett County Police Department.
