By B.J. Williams
CUMMING - A Forsyth County man has been arrested following the discovery of destructive devices in a house on the south side of the county.

Forsyth County Sheriff's Deputy Robin Regan said 24-year-old Jeremy Ives was arrested in Gainesville after members of his family found suspicious devices in their home Sunday evening and called local authorities.

Local authorities then called the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Bomb Disposal Unit to take possession of the devices.

"The devices were not explosive in nature," said Regan. "They create a lot of heat and a lot of fire...they are dangerous, and they are classified as a hazardous device."

Regan said Ives admitted to making the devices himself.

"At this time, we believe Mr. Ives is the only individual involved, and we also do not believe there was any immediate malicious intent to use the devices to harm somebody," said Regan.

Regan did not divulge the specific address where the devices were found, saying only that they were located in a common area of the house Ives shared with family members in a subdivision on the south end of Forsyth County.

Right now, Ives faces charges of possession of a destructive device.
