LAWRENCEVILLE - Former Atlanta Falcons running back Jamal Anderson was arrested Friday night for driving under the influence, according to a report in the Gwinnett Daily Post.

The newspaper said authorities have released few details on the incident, although an arrest report indicated Anderson was booked at 6:45 p.m. on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and improper stopping. The Georgia State Patrol apparently made the arrest.

Anderson, 43, currently lives in Braselton.

Anderson has had other run-ins with the law in the past, including a DUI arrest in Dekalb County in 2012 and a drug possession arrest in Atlanta in 2009.
Anderson played with the Falcons from 1994 until 2001. He is the player credited with creating the "Dirty Bird" dance.
