Small plane makes unplanned landing on Cherokee Co. freeway

CANTON, Ga. (AP) Authorities say a small plane made an emergency landing on a north Georgia interstate Tuesday. <br /> <br /> Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen says a Beech C23 aircraft landed safely on I-575 near airport road in Canton. <br /> <br /> Bergen says the pilot taxied the plane off of the freeway and into a grassy area. Bergen says no damage was reported and the plane was carrying two people. <br /> <br /> Bergen says the FAA is investigating and details on what prompted the plane's unscheduled landing weren't immediately available. According to FAA registration records, the plane is owned by Quality Aviation Inc., a flight training school based out of the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport in northeast Atlanta.
