Gwinnett County school board to vote on new attendance zones

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) The board of Georgia's largest school system plans to vote on new schools and attendance zones that would involve more than 13,000 students. <br />

The Gwinnett County school board is expected to vote Thursday night on the plan to redraw the attendance zones. <br />
<br />
Among the changes: The district plans to open a new high school on Old Norcross Road. <br />
<br />
School system spokesperson Sloan Roach said that some students in the Berkmar and Central Gwinnett high school zones would attend the new high school. <br />
<br />
Gwinnett County includes several of Atlanta's northeastern suburbs in areas which have seen high population growth in recent years. <br />
