Sanders leaves $3.4 million to UGA School of Law

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) Former Georgia Gov. Carl Sanders has left $3.4 million of his estate to the University of Georgia School of Law. <br /> <br /> Law school officials said Tuesday that the gift will be used to create a scholarship fund for law students and continue a faculty position that was established in 2002. They say it is the single largest gift in the law school's history. <br /> <br /> Sanders died in November at the age of 89. He was a prominent member of the state's legal community and attended UGA's law school. <br /> <br /> Sanders' wife Betty Foy Sanders said her husband felt deep gratitude to the university and the law school.
