Wallenda completes tightrope walk in Georgia Dome

By The Associated Press
ATLANTA (AP) - Aerialist Nik Wallenda has completed a tightrope walk inside the Georgia Dome, cheered on by more than 30,000 people as he carefully moved more than 100 feet above the field.

Wallenda told The Associated Press afterward that he imagined what it must be like to score a touchdown in an NFL game as the crowd roared during his 600-foot route along the cable Saturday night.

He says it was his first walk inside a dome and it went smoothly with the cable proving very stable. The walk took place during Winter Jam, a large Christian music gathering.

Wallenda has gained international attention with such tightrope walks as his crossing of Niagara Falls in June 2012 and the Little Colorado River Gorge in the Grand Canyon area of Arizona last year.
