ATLANTA (AP) Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal has delayed the opening of government offices as the state continues rebounding from a winter storm.
Deal said in a statement that government offices are scheduled to open at 10 a.m. Friday, which should give agency heads discretion to close offices in areas that are still dealing with power outages and allowing employees to work from home if necessary.
Deal has extended a state of emergency through Sunday night to make sure the state is equipped with the resources it needs to continue clearing rods and other storm-related debris.
