CHANDLER, AZ (AP) - Alexis DeJoria raced to her first career Funny Car victory Sunday in the CARQUEST Auto Parts NHRA Nationals, beating Robert Hight in the final.

DeJoria, the wife of television personality Jesse James and daughter of entrepreneur John Paul DeJoria, had a run of 4.043 seconds at 309.63 mph in her Toyota Camry. Hight's Ford Mustang lost traction.

DeJoria became the fourth female Funny Car winner and 14th female winner in a Mello Yello Series race.

"When we won the finals, I couldn't believe it," DeJoria said. "Actually, I can because I know we can do it, but it's such a shock at the same time. It's surreal. It's really amazing. I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep."

Antron Brown won in Top Fuel and Allen Johnson topped the Pro Stock field at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park.

Brown beat first-time finalist Brittany Force with a run of 3.755 at 324.20. Brown has three victories at the track and 26 in his Top Fuel career.

Johnson, also a 2012 series champion, raced to his 21st career Pro Stock win and second at the track, topping V Gaines in the final with a run of 6.543 at 212.23 in a Dodge Avenger.
