GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville woman has been charged with murder after her live-in boyfriend died from injuries he sustained in a stabbing incident last week.
Gainesville Police Cpl. Joe Britte said Pamela Ann Porter initially was charged with aggravated assault after police found Rodney Griffith, 48, unresponsive outside a residence on West Avenue with stab wounds to his upper body on Friday, June 13. Griffith was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center where he died Wednesday as a result of his injuries.
Britte said charges against Porter have now been upgraded to murder and aggravated assault, both felony offenses. He said he was unsure of the circumstances that led up to Griffith's stabbing.
Porter remains in the Hall County Jail pending a bond hearing.
