By Staff
OAKWOOD - A recent graduate and student athlete from West Hall High School recently was surprised with a $2,500 gift from The H.O.P.E. Foundation, a national non-profit organization with the goal of helping youth live more positive, inspirational lives.

Zach English, the quarterback for the West Hall Spartans, received the check from Lou and Kathy DiCocco, the parents of a young football coach whose dream was to establish a foundation that would assist youth who were trying to make a positive input in society. Their son, Frank DiCocco, died at the age of 29 as a result of bone marrow failure. (See details on the H.O.P.E Foundation in the link below.)

English, who was volunteering as a server at the annual Moms Dinner at West Hall High School, received the scholarship money on June 20. He was nominated for the honor by West Hall High School Head Football Coach Tony Lotti.
