Man shot in apparent carjacking in Sandy Springs shopping center

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. (AP) Police are investigating shooting that was part of an apparent robbery and carjacking at a shopping center in the Atlanta suburb of Sandy Springs. <br />

Sandy Springs police on Monday identified the victim as 27-year-old Mario Ross. They say he was shot around 6 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the Target store at The Prado Sandy Springs. <br />

Sandy Springs police spokeswoman Forrest Bohannon tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Ross was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and was in stable condition early Monday. <br />
<br />
Sandy Springs police Capt. Steve Rose said Ross' car was driven away after the crime. <br />
<br />
Bohannon said early Monday that police were still searching for the stolen vehicle, a black 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer with a Georgia license tag. <br />
