2 hurt when tornado hits rural Georgia

ALMA, Ga. (AP) -- An assistant fire chief in rural Georgia says a tornado swept through the area and destroyed a mobile home Sunday, injuring two people inside.<br /> <br /> Alma assistant fire chief Scotty Boatright said it took emergency crews about a half hour to rescue a woman who became trapped in the rubble of her mobile home. Her husband also had to be rescued after the mobile home was thrown off its foundation and the walls collapsed.<br /> <br /> The woman had serious injuries and was taken to a hospital in Savannah, which is about 90 miles northeast of Alma. The man was in stable condition at a local hospital.<br /> <br /> Boatright says the tornado knocked down trees, destroyed two barns and caused minor damage to a couple of houses.
