The home of Dawson County Sheriff Billy Carlisle was heavily damaged by fire Saturday afternoon. <br />

Chief Lanier Swafford with Dawson County EMS said the fire appears to have started in the laundry room of the home on Carlisle Road. He said there will be an investigation, but the fire is not considered suspicious. <br />
<br />
Swafford said the Sheriff's 17-year-old son was home at the time the fire started. He was not injured. The family will be staying with relatives, according to Swafford. <br />
<br />
Fire officials remained on the scene as late as 9 p.m., making sure there were no remaining hot spots from the fire.
