8 from area among Ga. Trend's 100 Most Influential Georgians

ATLANTA - Eight people from northeast Georgia are among Georgia Trend Magazine's 2015 list of 100 Most Influential Georgians.<br />

They are Carol Burrell of Gainesville, President and CEO of Northeast Georgia Health System; Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle of Chestnut Mountain; Young Harris College President Cathy Cox; Gov. Nathan Deal of Demorest, formerly of Gainesville; Lauren "Bubba" McDonald of Clarkesville, Chairman of the state Public Service Commission; Georgia House Speaker David Ralston, Blue Ridge; Jimmy Tallent, Blairsville, President and CEO of United Community Bank; and Philip Wilheit, Gainesville, President and CEO of Wilheit Packaging.<br />
<br />
A list of Notable Georgians was also compiled and includes three people from northeast Georgia: Mike Giles, President of the Gainesville-based Georgia Poultry Federation; State Sen. Steve Gooch of Dahlonega; and Dr. Bonita Jacobs, President of the University of North Georgia.<br />
