Man killed by falling slab of marble at N. Ga. fabrication plant

TATE, Ga. (AP) Authorities in north Georgia say an employee at a marble fabrication plant died after being crushed by an estimated 7,000 pounds of the material. <br /> <br /> Pickens County Sheriff's Lt. Kris Stancil told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution the worker was killed Monday at Georgia Marble in Tate. <br /> <br /> Stancil said the worker was handling a machine when a slab of marble fell on top of him. <br /> <br /> The newspaper identified the victim as 28-year-old Kevin Voyles.<br /> <br /> The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the cause of the accident.
