BRASELTON - Mayor Bill Orr joined company officers and dignitaries Thursday, January 15 to welcome Hitachi Koki USA to Braselton at its new distribution logistics center on Broadway Avenue.<br />

The ceremonial ribbon-cutting was held at the site, which is designated as the company's East Coast distribution center and employs 160 people.<br />
<br />
The company's chairman, president, Japan's Consul General from Atlanta and Orr spoke at the groundbreaking event. Orr thanked the company for its corporate social responsibility and reminded attendees of the town's emerging international presence.<br />
<br />
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Orr joined the officials with a ceremonial planting of a cherry tree, symbolic of Japan's gifts of cherry trees flourishing in the nation's capital.
