GAINESVILLE - A two-month investigation culminated Tuesday with the arrest of a Gainesville man.<br />

Agents with the North Georgia Regional Drug Enforcement Office, Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Squad and Hall County MANS unit participated in the raid on Riverbend Circle, according to a press release from the NGRDEO's Mitchell Posey.<br />

The release says that 62-year-old Franklin Douglas Edwards was arrested at the home after agents discovered he was in possession of 8 pounds of high grade marijuana and 780 grams of crystal methamphetamine. Those drugs are said to have a street value of over $120,000.<br />
<br />
Over $16,000 in cash was also discovered inside the home.<br />
<br />
Edwards is currently being held in the Hall County Detention Center on charges of with trafficking methamphetamine and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. <br />
<br />
According to the release, the multi-agency investigation revealed that Edwards was responsible for the distribution of roughly two pounds of illegal narcotics a week in Hall, Lumpkin, White, and Habersham Counties. <br />
