ATLANTA (AP) Forecasters are issuing a flash flood watch for a large part of north Georgia and eastern parts of the state -- areas where they say up to 5 inches of rain could fall.
The National Weather Service said rainfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches are possible across in the region, and more than 5 inches could fall in localized areas.
The flash flood watch will be in effect through Sunday evening. It includes the cities of Augusta, Athens, Blairsville, Eatonton, Gainesville and Toccoa.
