ATLANTA - The Supreme Court of Georgia will hear arguments Tuesday in a case involving a Forsyth County company that buys foreclosure properties.
TDGA, a limited liability company, is appealing a Forsyth County judge's dismissal of a lawsuit they filed against a pair of state agencies.
TDGA lawyers argue that the Georgia Department of Revenue and the Department of Labor no longer have any fudicial interest in a property TDGA acquired on Bethelview Road.
The State argues that both agencies had liens on the property due to the former owner's failure to pay certain indebtedness.
A trial court ruled earlier that the Georgia Legislature had not specifically waived sovereign immunity for claims such as those being made by TDGA.
The Attorney General's Office says the trial court properly granted the motion to dismiss TDGA's lawsuit.
The state's highest court will now decide the issue.
