GAINESVILLE — Elachee Nature Science Center's biggest fundraising event of the year has a new home this year.
The Starlight Adventure Benefit is set for Saturday evening, November 21st starting at 6 pm at the Brenau University Downtown Center.
Organizers say Starlight is a relaxed and casual party, featuring beverage and appetizer bars, live music, a low-country boil dinner and live and silent auctions. Starlight typically attracts nearly 250 friends and supporters of the community nature center who come together to celebrate the arrival of fall and the successes of the best nature center in the southeast!
The wildly popular “mini adventures” with animals and hands-on discovery activities connecting guests with nature are making a return appearance to the event.
Guests can choose from unique and locally-sourced auction items, something for everyone at all price points: artwork, jewelry, pottery, sculpture, trips, gift baskets, children’s surprises, event tickets, whimsical treasures and home décor. The live auction will feature a one-year lease for a Honda Insight hybrid vehicle, and a trip to Cuba (for 2-6), as well as other amazing packages. The popular “Stellar Treasure Baskets” make a return, packed with deluxe and sought-after goods and services.
New this year is the Galaxy Travel Drawing; a limited number of tickets is available for this drawing and you don’t have to be present to win! Pre-sell tickets are available online at $50 each. At the door, any tickets left will be $100 each. This is a reverse style drawing and the last ticket standing will be the winner. Winner gets their choice of one of four luxury trips, retailing up to $7,500 (Napa Valley Backroads and Railways, Fairmont Lake Louise Banff, Canada Mountain Adventure, Kentucky Bourbon Trail, Celebrity Caribbean Cruise for 2).
