NICHOLSON - Fire insurance rates are expected to decease in the Nicholson Area Fire District because of a new ISO (Insurance Services Organization) rating.
The new rating is Class 4. The old one was Class 5.
The ISO rates fire districts throughout the country and evaluates fire departments along with the water systems in determining ratings. People in the Nicholson Area Fire District should contact their insurance agent to see if they qualify for a decrese in insurance rates. The new rate was effective Oct. 1.
