By B.J. Williams

GAINESVILLE — A Gainesville woman charged with killing her boyfriend in June 2014 has reached a plea deal with the Hall County District Attorney's Office.

DA Lee Darragh confirmed Tuesday morning that Pamela Ann Porter, 50, entered a guilty plea Friday to voluntary manslaughter, aggravated assault and weapons possession in the death of Rodney Griffeth.

Griffeth, who was 48, was stabbed at a home the couple shared on West Avenue on June 13, 2014. He later died from his injuries and that's when Porter was charged with murder.

Authorities reported the two had a history of domestic violence; both had been victims and perpetrators over the course of several years.

Under the plea agreement, Porter will spend three years in jail.
