HOSCHTON — Mill Creek is one removed from a perfect regular season and its first football region title after a 24-0 defeat of Norcross on Friday in Hoschton.
The Hawks (9-0, 6-0 Region 7-AAAAAA) will play Peachtree Ridge -- also undefeated in 7-AAAAAA play -- next week for the region crown.
Mill Creek's defense dominated Norcross, allowing just 61 total yards on Friday for their fifth shutout of the season.
Meanwhile, Joe Thomas paced the Hawks offense, rushing for 191 yards and two touchdowns. Cameron Turley also passed for 118 yards, helping Mill Creek roll up 338 yards.
The Hawks will play host to Peachtree Ridge next week.
