LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) Residents in a Gwinnet County have decided to continue a penny-per-dollar sales tax to fund school improvements.
Gwinnett County residents approved the tax during Tuesday's elections.
It's expected to raise nearly $1 billion to fund school improvement projects in the county and the Buford city school districts.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that with votes counted in nearly all election precincts, about three out of four residents voted to extend the tax.
