GAINESVILLE — As predicted by most local elections experts, the turnout was low for Tuesday's municipal elections across the state. In Hall County, the turnout was just 9.3%, according to numbers on the county elections website.
Hall County has 74,489 registered voters. Just 6,932 votes were cast across the county.
Voter turnout is typically lower for so-called off-year elections when there's no statewide or national office up for a vote.
The rainy weather also is thought to have kept voters away from the polls, according to elections officials.
