GAINESVILLE - Rushton and Company's founding partner, Barclay Rushton, has earned his Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) credentials from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
With his PFS certification, Rushton provides estate, tax, retirement, risk management and investment planning advice.
“Having CPA/PFS certification is more than being just a financial planner,” said Rushton, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for 35 years. “It is a combination of extensive tax expertise and comprehensive knowledge of financial planning. It covers all areas that have tax implications in personal financial planning including estate, retirement, investments and insurance. With CPA/PFS certification, I will be able to provide another level of service to our clients.”
Established by the AICPA in 1987, the Personal Financial Specialist credential is granted to CPAs with considerable professional experience in financial planning. CPA/PFS credential holders are consistently ranked among the most qualified financial planners in the marketplace, according to AICPA.
