ATLANTA (AP) Authorities say a woman was struck by a MARTA train Thursday in downtown Atlanta, but was alert when taken to the hospital.
MARTA spokesperson Saba Long tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://on-ajc.com/1RKe4tM ) the woman was on the northbound tracks of the Five Points station when she was struck about 4:10 p.m.
She was ``conscious and alert'' when emergency workers removed her from the tracks, Long says. The woman was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.
The incident is under further investigation.
Rail service at the station was fully restored by Thursday evening.
