ATLANTA - Governor Nathan Deal has ordered a two-hour delayed opening Tuesday morning for several area state offices following the issuance of a winter storm warning from the National Weather Service.
Deal has mandated that state offices in Dawson, Fannin, Gilmer, Gordon, Lumpkin, Murray, Pickens, Towns, Union and White counties adhere to the delay in order to assure a safe commute for affected government workers.
The weather service issued the warning after forecasts began calling for 1"-3" of snow and/or ice accumulation in some areas beginning late Monday night and continuing through Tuesday morning.
