One killed in Dawson Co. crash

DAWSONVILLE - Dawson County authorities confirmed one person was killed in a fiery crash on Highway 52 Tuesday afternoon.

Dawson County EMA Chief Lanier Swafford said crews were called to the accident scene just inside the Dawson County line at 4:55 p.m..

Swafford said the victim was a man; no one else was in the vehicle.

Gilmer County EMA and the Big Canoe Fire Department assisted at the crash site, according to Swafford.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating.
