UGA student found dead inside dorm

ATHENS - The body of a female University of Georgia student was found inside a campus dormitory Thursday evening.

According to 11Alive News in Atlanta, who cite a press release issued by UGA Campus Police, the student has been identified as 21-year-old Mikal Girmazghi.

The release states that police officers and EMS workers responded to an emergency call just after 6 p.m., arriving at the scene inside of the Russell Hall dormitory to find the student already deceased.

A preliminary investigation revealed no obvious signs of foul play.

Additional information is expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
