ALPHARETTA - A suspected serial robber has been taken into custody and three FBI task force agents have been injured after an incident in Forsyth County Saturday morning.
Forsyth County Sheriff's Deputy Robin Regan said members of an FBI task force were investigating the robberies and confronted the suspect at a CVS Pharmacy on Windmere Parkway and Old Atlanta Highway.
The man, 36 year-old Kelvone Charleston, fled from the task force agents. The chase ended when Charleston crashed along with two other FBI vehicles and was shot and wounded. Regan said the incident also injured some task force members.
"Three members of the FBI task force were also injured," Regan said, "They were not shot, they were injured in different ways throughout the incident including the crash."
Regan said Charleston could have been involved in as many as 32 robberies, and FBI information led them to believe he inteded to rob the CVS.
Charleston was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Sheriff's Office says Windermere Parkway has been closed for a time at Old Atlanta Road while an investigation is underway; authorities said that could take most of the day Saturday.
