By B.J. Williams

STATHAM - A Friday fire at a home on Booth Road was intentionally set, according to Barrow County fire investigators.

Firefighters were called to the scene of the fire just before 8:30 Friday morning.

Barrow County Fire Lt. Scott Dakin said investigators later determined the blaze to be an arson fire.

The family of three who lived at the home was away on vacation; they have been displaced as a result.

Anyone with information on the fire is asked to contact the Barrow County Sheriff's Office or the Georgia Arson Control Hotline at 1-800-282-5804. The Georgia Arson Control Board offers up to a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for arson.
