Two die in mowing accidents in White County

By Dean Dyer WRWH Radio

CLEVELAND - White County authorities report two people died Saturday as a result of separate accidents involving lawnmowers.

White County Coroner Ricky Barrett said the first accident was reported around  3:30 p.m. on Signal Pole Road, off Skitts Mountain Road in the southern part of the county.

Barrett said 76-year-old William Ronnie Wiley of Lula was mowing on property he owns in White County and the mower ran off an embankment and overturned on top of him.

The second accident occurred around 4:25 p.m. on Mill Creek Trail off Adair Mill Road.

The coroner said 76-year-old Larry Randoll Bailey of Cleveland was operating a mower on his property when it overturned into a creek, pinning Bailey in the water.

Barrett said in both accidents wet ground was determined as a factor.

White County Sheriff’s Office and White County Coroner’s office investigated both accidents.
