Syfan Logistics named to national 'top 50' list of transport firms

GAINESVILLE — Transport Topics, a national newspaper covering trucking and freight transportation, has named Syfan Logistics as one of the Top 50 Transportation Brokerage Firms and Top 50 Dedicated Contract Carriers in the United States for 2015.

Founded in 2011, Syfan Logistics ranked No. 37 on the Top 50 Transportation Brokerage Firms list and No. 41 on the Top 50 Dedicated Contract Carriers list. A transportation brokerage firm is an intermediary, coordinating shipments between shippers and carriers. A dedicated carrier assigns a specific fleet of trucks and drivers to support a client’s ongoing shipments.

Syfan’s recognition is the first time the company has been named to either of the Transport Topics’ Top 50 lists.

“We are honored to be named to the Transport Topics Top 50 lists,” said Syfan Logistics CEO Jim Syfan. “An honor like this shows our team’s ability to deliver the results our customers expect. It is a tribute to their hard work that has allowed Syfan Logistics to grow by exceeding expectations.”

In compiling the Top 50 list, Transport Topics ranks companies on the basis of net revenue, which is derived by subtracting the cost of transportation provided by others from gross or total revenue.

It is the second time in the last year that the company has received national recognition. In 2014, Inbound Logistics magazine named Syfan Logistics one of the Top 100 Third-Party Logistics providers in the United States. In its home community, Syfan Logistics was honored last year with the Industry of the Year award by the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce.

With its own fleet of trucks, Syfan Logistics is a full-scale, asset-based logistics management company based in Gainesville.
