3 new principals approved for Hall Co. schools

GAINESVILLE - The Hall County School Board has approved recommendations from Superintendent Will Schofield in regards to filling three upcoming principal vacancies.
 
According to a press release from Gordon Higgins, the Director of Community Relations and Athletics for the Hall County School System, the board voted to approve the recommendations for the 2015-2016 school year at their work session on Monday.
 
The first nominee, Donna Wiggins, currently serves as assistant principal at Riverbend Elementary. She will replace current Riverbend principal Dr. Debra Smith, who will retire at the end of the 2014-2015 school year.
 
The second nominee, Laurie Hitzges, will become co-principal at World Languages Academy (WLA), partnering with current WLA administrative team member Brittney Bennet. Hitzges currently serves as an assistant principal in the Jackson County School System.
 
The final nominee named in the release, Pam Doig, will replace the retiring Dr. Catherine Rosa as principal at McEver Arts Academy. Doig will come to McEver from the Troup County School System, where she also serves as a principal.
